The Knicks had an early scare as Kristaps Porzingis turned his ankle and needed help getting to the locker room. By the time the 2nd quarter announcement came out that Porzingis was fine the Knicks were well on their way to a convincing victory.
After missing three games Enes Kanter brought the Knicks what they missed in his absence, energy and toughness. Kanter scored 22 points on 7/9 shooting and pulled down 14 rebounds in just 25 minutes.
Normally our recap is a recap of the Knicks but I'm still a little angry about Winslow stepping on KP's ankle so I wanted to highlight his futility. Winslow scored just 5 points on 2/5 shooting and posted a -19 +/- in 17 minutes.
- Courtney Lee had a strong game with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.
- Doug McDermott, Kyle O'Quinn and Willy Hernangomez combined to go 14/17 for 29 points off the bench. McDermott scored 12 points on 6/7 shooting, O'Quinn scored 9 points on 4/4 shooting while grabbing 7 rebounds, and Hernangomez scored 8 points on 4/5 shooting while pulling down 7 rebounds and blocking 2 shots in just 8 minutes.
- Damyean Dotson played 5 minutes after playing with the Westchester Knicks earlier today.
- Frank Ntilikina sat out tonight's game with a sprained ankle.
The Knicks wrap up their 3 game home stand against the Magic on Sunday afternoon. After a surprising 8-4 start, Orlando lost 9 in a row before beating the Thunder tonight. The Knicks will look to avenge a loss to the Magic earlier in the year in a game Porzingis did not play.
